My Favourite Navy Photos of 2016

Each year I try and choose my favourite images of the year. The following are my favourite Navy related images of the year, mostly RCN with a couple of RCAF and foreign images thrown in. Most are to be found in my RCN gallery on Smugmug.

January:

September saw an international fleet gather in Halifax for Exercise Cutlass Fury, and the fleet participated in a sailpast when they departed.

The fleet sails out.

FNS LANGUEDOC. This class of ship is in the running for the new Canadian Surface Combatant.

October:

HMCS VILLE DE QUEBEC in a rare October mist.

At the time the images was taken, these were the oldest two ships remaining in RCN commission. PRESERVER on the right was paid off within the month, and ATHABASKAN is scheduled to pay off next year.

The Royal Canadian Mint unveiled a new "Battle of the Atlantic" coin onboard HMCS SACKVILLE.
